5 SIMPLE TIPS TO PREPARE YOUR
HOME FOR SALE
1. REMOVE THE ROADBLOCKS!!
When potential buyers enter your home make sure it
invites them in. Remove large furniture that blocks
buyers from entering their potential home. Create
conversation areas and make buyers want to sit and visit
not wonder if there is room for their furniture.
2. LET THERE BE LIGHT!! Open all draperies,
blinds, etc. and turn on all your lamps and lights. Make
your home look bright and welcoming not dark and gloomy.
3. STORAGE STORAGE STORAGE!! Everyone wants
plenty of closet space. Make sure that closets are as
empty as possible. Eliminate out of season clothes.
Group clothing by color and hang short and long items
together. Remove everything possible from the floor.
This simple task will make your closet appear larger and
will show potential buyers your home has ample storage
space.
4. CLEAN AND THEN CLEAN AGAIN!! One of the
easiest and most inexpensive things you can do is make
sure your home sparkles. Clean every surface from
countertops to ceiling fans. Vacuum under beds and
behind all furniture. Clean all windows inside and out.
Make sure all surfaces in the bathrooms are shiny clean.
Be aware if you have pet odors and have all carpets
cleaned.
5. NAME THAT ROOM!! Make sure that buyers
understand the true purpose of a room. If you have a
desk in your dining room take it out. Each room needs a
defined use. Don’t leave questions in the mind of
potential buyers!
Testimonials
I met Shelly a few years ago. I was holding an Open House in her neighborhood
and she stopped by and introduced herself and left some cards with me.
I specialize in Relocation and list a lot of homes that are vacant. I had a
listing that had been on the market for one year. I had the Relocation Company
agree to have the home staged. Shelley staged the home and it looked like
a model home. The home was shown the day after it was staged and went
under contract that day. Since that time she has staged all of my listings
that are vacant. All of them have sold right away. She also has helped
many of my Sellers who do not know how to prepare their home to put
on the market. She is able to take a home that is cluttered and unattractive
to a home that looks uncluttered and attractive. She has changed the
paint colors, helped with replacing flooring, carpet and countertops.
She has changed the looks of many of my listings to give the
Wow factor when you walk in the door. I know that many of my
homes would still be on the market if I had not used her services.
Shelley has great decorating skills. She has a style that matches each home she goes into. She
can turn a cold feeling home to warm and inviting. I would recommend her services to anyone
who wants to update their home, or just needs a new facelift. She is the best in her field.!
